Introduction & Background
Media Literacy @ KCPSS
Think Critically. Create Purposefully. Communicate Powerfully.
In today’s media-saturated world, students are constantly consuming information. At KCPSS, we ensure they do more than just scroll—we teach them to think, question, and create with purpose.
Our Media Literacy Applied Learning Programme (ALP) equips students with the ability to access, analyse, evaluate, and create media across platforms—from print to digital—through authentic, real-world learning experiences.
From Consumers to Creators
At KCPSS, students grow along a clear progression:
Passive Consumption → Active Consumption → Purposeful Production
They move from simply receiving information to:
🔍 Analysing and questioning media messages
🧠 Applying critical thinking to detect bias and meaning
🎯 Creating purposeful content with clear intent and values
We develop students who are not just media users, but media thinkers and shapers.
