2011 Principal's Message
Leaders, Learners and Change Makers
I count it an honour and privilege to join the Kuo Chuan Family.
I appreciate deeply the rich tradition and legacy I come into and would like to extend my hearty congratulations to the outgoing Principal, Mr Tony Low and his team for the school's outstanding achievements under his leadership. I look forward to working with the staff, pupils and stakeholders in building on this good work to enable every KCPian to realise his full potential.
At a time when the clarion call all over the world is for a values-based education, it is heartening that Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Secondary School sees itself as a school 'grounded in Christian values'. I thus believe that every KCPian strives to grow in 'wisdom and stature and in favour with God and man'. It is against this backdrop that I would like to share with you my heart's desire to see the KCPSS community as one of Leaders, Learners and Change Makers.
As Leaders, the KCPSS community would be one of confident individuals who are proactive and take responsibility for our own learning and growth. Adaptable and resilient, KCPians will have a strong sense of right and wrong. We will be discerning in judgement and display the courage to stand up for what is right under all circumstances. KCPians will also have a high level of self-awareness, know who we are, appreciate our God-given talents and capabilities and use them well to make choices and decisions that will result in positive outcomes for all at KCPSS and the community.
As Learners, we will always take responsibility for our own learning and growth. We will be reflective individuals who will think independently and critically, question assumptions and persevere in the face of challenge. We will always remember that we are a part of a larger body and work with one another to achieve the best outcomes for all.
As Change-makers, we will actively seek to bring positive change in the school and the community. We will seek and embrace change in our efforts to improve the environment and the lives of those around us. We will be prepared to take calculated risks and strive for new heights of excellence in all that we do. We will strive to always be, 'AFlame for Truth' in our community! May God's rich blessings be upon us in the year ahead!
